About the AMS 700 LGX

The AMS 700 LGX is Boston Scientific’s length-and-girth three-piece inflatable implant. "LGX" stands for length and girth expansion — it is the only widely used implant whose cylinders lengthen as well as widen when inflated.

How it works

It uses the same three-piece system as the CX: cylinders in the penis, a scrotal pump, and an abdominal reservoir. The difference is in the cylinders, which are engineered to expand in both length and girth as they fill.

What makes it distinctive

The length expansion can help preserve functional length, which some men and surgeons value. It shares the InhibiZone antibiotic surface treatment and the one-hand MS pump with the CX.

Things to weigh

Some surgeons prefer the CX when maximum rigidity is the priority, since the added length expansion slightly changes the feel of the erection. Like all three-piece devices, it is the most complex option to implant.
